My academic background is in mathematics. I have three degrees from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto: BSc in Mathematics - Educational Branch, MSc in Mathematics - Foundametals and Applications and PhD in Applied Mathematics.
After 9 years of teaching mathematics, I obtained a PhD in Applied Mathematics at the Centre for Mathematics of the University of Porto.
In the following 3 years (2015-2018), I developed my research activities as a bioinformatics postdoc in two research centers: CIBIO-inBIO and CBMA, Portugal.
In April 2018, I moved to INEB/i3S, Portugal, to work as a bioimage analyst.
In April 2022, I joined P95 as an Analyst Programmer.
In my professional activities interacted with >60 collaborators, resulting in the co-authorship of 18 scientific papers, and I am the main developer of several software applications. I participate and/or participated in 6 R&D projects (one of which as co-PI) and supervise(d) 6 MSc dissertations. I am the main organizer of the HEROHE grand-challenge with >800 participants.
